We are a family owned and operated Australian business, being one of Melbourne’s leading road maintenance and construction contractors. After almost 30 successful years as Central Bobcat Hire, we are excited to announce that we have now evolved into Central Asphalt Group.

In the beginning, 1990, Director David Speranza started out with just his bobcats, and was known to many as ‘the Bobcat man’. Dave began with only his bobcats in his backyard, working as a subcontractor for many major road construction companies. He was known for his love for specifically Mustang bobcats and later became a member of the Mustang ‘G-man’ Tour to the USA. He also was the leading bobcat supplier in Melbourne for not only road construction, but also residential developers. Soon after, Dave started to transform the company and begun profiling and asphalting services.
Jump forward to 2021 and we are even more transformed. We now provide services such as Asphalt Paving, Road Profiling, Civil Construction and Heavy Haulage. As a result, our previous name became conflicting to the many services we provide, where Central Asphalt Group best reflects the nature of our company. However, Central Bobcat Hire will continue to be remembered and forever represent how Dave turned his passion and work with bobcats into a ‘one stop shop’ road construction company.

This renewed brand allows us to encapsulate the opportunity of expanding our business opportunities in order to allow us to continue to grow. As the company enters into a new, exciting chapter, Central Asphalt Group creates a clear plan for our future. We collaborate with many major civil contractors, asphalt companies, government bodies and municipal councils throughout Melbourne and rural Victoria. We want to accommodate to everyone’s needs; whether they be big or small.
